Recovery Tonic

When someone in the house is getting over a cold, the goal isn’t magic — it’s support. This is a simple recovery drink we love because it’s easy, kid-friendly (with small tweaks), and actually soothing on the throat and nervous system.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot (not boiling) water

  • Juice of ½ fresh lemon

  • 1–2 teaspoons raw honey (skip for kids under 1 year old)

  • 2–3 thin slices fresh ginger

  • Small pinch sea salt

Steps

  1. Heat water until hot but not boiling.

  2. Add ginger slices and let steep 5–7 minutes.

  3. Stir in lemon juice and sea salt.

  4. Add honey last (once slightly cooled) and mix well.

  5. Sip slowly.
